Title: | Shop opening hours and population exposure to NO2 assessed with an activity-based transportation model | Authors: | DONS, Evi BECKX, Carolien Arentze, T. WETS, Geert INT PANIS, Luc |
Issue Date: | 2010 | Source: | Book of abstracts of geoENV 2010. p. 134-136. | Abstract: | In this work we assess for the first time the impact of a poliy measure on population exposure to NO2 by using the activity-based model ALBATROSS, the emission model MIMOSA and the dispersion model AURORA. We found that widening shop opening hours changes the activity pattern of the adult population in the Netherlands. It increases kilometres driven and, as a consequence, emissions. When watching the concentration maps with the dynamic population, we observe an increase in population exposure to NO2. | Document URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/1942/11912 | ISBN: | 978-94-9069-539-2 | Category: | C1 | Type: | Proceedings Paper |
