|Title:||Comment on "Casimir-Polder long-range interaction potentials between alkali-metal atoms"||Authors:||SALAM, Akbar||Issue Date:||2000||Publisher:||AMERICAN PHYSICAL SOC||Source:||PHYSICAL REVIEW A, 6202(2)||Abstract:||It is shown that the analysis by Marinescu and You [Phys. Rev. A 59, 1936 (1999)] of the Casimir-Polder long-range interaction potential between a pair of ground-state alkali-metal atoms is incomplete. Missing is the contribution to the energy shift arising from the diamagnetic-diamagnetic interaction term. The lending term of this interaction is evaluated and found to have an inverse seventh-power dependence on interatomic separation distance.||Notes:||UCL, Dept Chem, London WC1H 0AJ, England.
