In this master thesis I investigate whether Open Innovation can be used in Corporate Renewal. This research starts with a description of the problem definition and the methodolgy that I used during my research. Afterwards, I conduct a literature research of the existing literature on Innovation, Closed Innovation, Open Innovation and Corporate Renewal. In the third part I investigate how two companies namely DSM and Janssen Pharmaceutica are using Open Innovation in Corporate Renewal. After this I explain the changes that have to be made in the Open Innovation model followed by the creation of a new framework to use Open Innovation in Corporate Renewal. In the last part, I give a general conclusion and some recommendations that will help companies to use Open Innovation for Corporate Renewal.-
