On the 28th December of 2011 the 'Right Turn on Red' for bicyclists has been approved in the Belgian Chamber. From that moment on the law has caused a lot of commotion. On the aspects that concern some people is the possibility of a spill-over effect. This spill-over effect of the 'Right Turn on Red' for bicyclists is the subject of my thesis. In my thesis is will test via an online survey if there is a spill-over effect on signalized intersections because of this new traffic law. First I'll search in the literature for all relevant variables that could have an effect on red light infringement. From this overview we will build up a survey. Also in this survey we will integrate a photo series with stated preference questions. The respondents are also randomized into two groups, one experimental and one control group. By comparing the results, we will try to find out if this safety issue of the spill-over effect really exists.-
