Title: | The effect of physical training on the glucose level | Authors: | Atanga, Marcelius | Advisors: | MOLENBERGHS, Geert | Issue Date: | 2013 | Publisher: | tUL | Abstract: | Abstract The interest in this project is to analyze the evolution of the measurement of blood glucose level of multiple sclerosis patients taking over a 2 hour's period for four different visits and study it association to physical training. Faced with repeated measurements collected over time and involving some pharmacological processes, the longitudinal mixed model was used to account for both cross-sectional and longitudinal variability and also Pharmacokinetics (PK) model was used to study the absorption and clearance rate of glucose in the blood of MS patients. Results show that there seem to be no overall statistically significant differences in the evolution of blood glucose; meanwhile, there is a statistically significant difference in the variability in the peaks and gradient of the profiles between the two groups.
