Abstract: While a lot of software startups currently are using agile software development methods to rapidly bring software to the market, larger organizations are struggling to keep up that pace. These agile methods sometimes fail in larger enterprises, and we want to know why this is happening. We want to know how we can define an 'Agile' organization, which challenges are ahead when wanting to become 'Agile', and which good practices there are in the market to help an organization become Agile. This research tries to answer these questions, by summarizing the literature at hand regarding agility at scale and by testing these scaling challenges by conducting a case study at software house Wolters Kluwer Belgium.
