Title: Troyan ceramics in the light of contemporary sculpture

Abstract: The series of ceramic sculptures which is executed and modified in the style of troyan ceramics. Its intention is to transfigure an traditional style of tableware ceramics into the concept of contemporary sculpture. Through the realization of this artistic works the project aims to add and discover new aesthetic expression in the range of the current artistic practice dealing with the notion of contemporary ceramic sculpture.

Research Context: The artistic research pursues to recreate the Troyan ceramics in the image of contemporary sculpture. Its purpose is to enable continuity and preservation of an established tradition and through interchange with the art or sculpture to evoke new interpretations within the Troyan ceramic school and contemporary sculpture.
Impact Description: The impact of this research project is triune: preservation of an authentic European ceramic tradition, continuity of its legacy and the integration, development and innovation of its technology with and through the art of sculpture. The generated knowledge and experience can add new dimention and forms of approach towards the acceptance of the handicrafts and their value for the developments of the fine arts.
