Title: WERCHEM, spol. s .o. - small family firm in open innovation

Abstract: The purpose of my thesis is to analyze small Slovak family firm WERCHEM, spol. s r.o.by using theory about open and closed innovation in a connection with SMEs and family business. Analyzing method was fulfilling Open innovation canvas and Collaborative innovation canvas which I chose according to main topic, OI. The thesis is composed of theoretical and analytical part. The first sub-part of theoretical part focus on explanation of innovations, open innovation and closed innovation. Second sub-part defines Open innovation canvas and Collaborative innovation canvas. Next sub-part offers information about small firm. The last sub-part of theoretical part is about family business. Analytical part of my master dissertation consist of three sub-parts according to small Slovak family firm WERCHEM, spol. s r.o. First sub-part of analytical part is introduction of firm. In next sub-part I made three Open innovation canvases according to firms with special relationship with WERCHEM, spol. s r.o. (exclusive contract of supplying screws and nuts or exclusivity of selling products on Slovak and Czech market). Collaborative innovation canvases I used future innovation and collaboration of mentioned family firm (web discussion board and collaboration with LEGO Slovakia). Based on these analyses I made innovation plan for future of WERCHEM, spol. s r.o. The main aim of the thesis is to bring for firm WERCHEM, spol. s r.o. possible innovations and collaborations which can be followed and improve their way of thinking.
