Title: | Healthcare Information System Management Challenges: The curious Case of the 'Cool Apps' that No One Likes | Authors: | Ayah Ndifor, Martial | Advisors: | DEPAIRE, Benoit | Issue Date: | 2016 | Publisher: | UHasselt | Abstract: | This master thesis investigates the challenges that are faced by Health care or Medical Apps adoption by end-users or patients. It is motivated by the fact that there is an increase in the health concerns and global IT proliferation, as well as huge proportion of investment that goes into such health solutions, yet the adoption still lags behind other Apps such as Instagram, Facebook messenger,Pokemon go, to name a few. The study is qualitative in nature and interviews as well as questionnaires were issued. However, this study focused on the human component of IT systems, and this refers to the patient. It was found that factors such as, data security, alteration of patients' daily routine, patients' professionals' attitude towards technology, errors from Apps, and lack of patient-centrism, serve as challenges to Health App adoption. | Notes: | Master of Management-Management Information Systems | Document URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/1942/22260 | Category: | T2 | Type: | Theses and Dissertations |
