Title: Night & Day
Contributors/Performers: HUYCKE, David
Issue Date: 2017
Abstract: The silver wall object 'Night & Day' is made of a silver sheet of half a square meter that has been hammered and planished on both sides. Through the impact of hammering on such a big and thin sheet, there is no possibility of having a plain and smooth result. Instead the surface is more organic than industrial. Contrasting to the imperfect surface the sheet has been divided in two equal squares by a sharp and perfect bend. One square is dark patinated, the other one remained silver white. 'Night & Day' was shown in the exhibition 'David Huycke - Here and Now' at Caroline Van Hoek Gallery Brussels, 2017.
