Abstract: Décor of the Invisible The exhibition space of the Brandweer kazerne, Maastrich NL holds a strong evidence of industrial interior. To situate an installation or a body of works in it (be it sculptural or wall objects) – one should bear in mind the undeniable industrial character, which on the end shall influence and define the outlook of the works. On the other hand, if one should decide to neglect or disregard the industrial factor, one have to transform and rebuild the interior completely (unrecognisably), which for the current occasion would be impossible due to lack of time and resources. For this reason, my intention is to use the space as it is, and even anticipate and emphasize on its former function. Therefore, in a conceptual way, I prefer to address the interior as a depot, where the objects of art are a kind of a requisite. In other words, behind the stage and in state of transition. Such approach encourages a free play and rescues the works from the conditioning of the interior. In relation to the current research, this is the standpoint which I see as most appropriate to deal with. The installation is build up around the concept of the Troyan ceramics in interaction with contemporary sculpture.
