Abstract: - Carnosine levels and muscle function between COPD patients and healthy controls were not significantly different. - Muscle carnosine concentrations and muscle function, except for isometric predicted m. quadriceps strength by Borges norm values, were not correlated. - Further research in a larger group of patients with more severe muscle dysfunction is recommended.
