dc.description.abstract | Piece created for the 21 grams jewellery group exhibition. (How does it start? Where does it happen? When does it stop?) One plant on a desk chest of drawers. The camera installed in front of this setup. Focus, press, record. Step into the picture. A private performance. Look (better). Touch. Smell. Take the hole puncher from the upper drawer. Hold the leaves in a grip, your fingers read their veins as Braille. The sound of making holes through the leaves, one by one. Hungry teeth in a piece of crisp lettuce. Artificial nothingness, created potential. A ball of yarn. Equal pieces of thread are measured and attached to the leaves. Remove, and add. A sharp noise. The pair of scissors opens and closes, and cuts cuts cuts. lt's a fine line. An extension of the hand, a tool, a weapon. An attempt to create and to show, to possess and to control, to appropriate and to contain. Wom, hung. Displayed. Slowly, the leaves and flowers wrinkle and dry out. They become fragile, yet curl expressively, while fading away. (End of scene) | - |
