Our research is focused on Business Process Modeling, its drivers, goals and its application at Hasselt University. BPM can be a good tool to assess how well the objectives are being achieved and it also points out the improvements that the process needs. In the scope of this thesis, we investigated the process of PhD Doctoral File submission at UHasselt. To find out the current situation that we have at the university, we collected the necessary data through meetings and interviews with current PhD students, professors and administrative staff. At the end of the thesis, recommendations on improving the current process are proposed.-
