Issue Date: | 2020 | Publisher: | UHasselt | Abstract: | "Hospitals Lost to Time: A case for the reuse of The San Juan de Dios Hospital in Granada, Nicaragua" analyzes examples of strategies used for the reuse of old Hospitals, or infected architecture and translates the different approaches for the reuse of The old San Juan de Dios Hospital in Granada, Nicaragua. The San Juan de Dios hospital has been abandoned for more than 20 years in spite of being one of the iconic 19th-century buildings of the city. Today its ruins are neglected and regarded as dangerous. The aim of the project is to understand how reuse can eliminate negative connotations that the building posses and help integrate the building into the life of the city. | Notes: | Master of Interior Architecture | Document URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/1942/32365 | Category: | T2 | Type: | Theses and Dissertations |
