Research Context: This jewellery piece was made based upon the 4th description in the Estate Inventory of Queen Louise-Marie d'Orléans, which was written down in 1851 and is kept in the State Archives of Belgium. Other sources include the portrait of Louise-Marie d'Orléans painted by Franz Xaver Winterhalter (1832 - 1850), the portrait of Louise-Marie d'Orléans painted by Nicaise de Keyser (1842), the portrait of Louise-Marie d'Orléans painted by Fanny Geefs (1832 - 1860), and many prints of Louise-marie's portrait kept in the Printroom (Royal Library of Belgium) and the State Archives.
Impact Description: This piece has been part of the exhibition "Until Death Do Us Part" organised by Gallery Alliages in Lille, France. The exhibition has been touring to o.a. Brussels Jewellery Week (Be.NEXT) and Munich Jewellery Week.
