Title: Medallion

Abstract: Medallion is an unwearable pendant mortared with miniature bricks, functioning as a relic among other (wearable) jewellery. In its function and meaning, the fragile photo medallion explores the relation between jewellery and the built environment and responds to the alternation between private and public space. The work was created for an exhibition at Galerie Marzee (Nijmegen, The Netherlands) to commemorate fellow jewellery designer and colleague Lucy Sarneel.
