Title: | Imagined Companion | Contributors/Performers: | KONSCHAKE, Maria | Issue Date: | 2025 | Abstract: | "Imagined Companion" is the final piece of my PhD research project. It is an artificial heirloom, made to be given away. | Keywords: | Jewellery;Memory;Heirloom;Object;Installation | Document URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/1942/47466 | Link to publication/dataset: | https://www.maria-konschake.de/project/imagined-companion | Discipline: | beeldende kunsten | Research Context: | Each bead represents a year of my life. The same applies to the knots on the thread. With every bead, a new knot is added. The piece will thus grow constantly until the end of my life. The thread is meant to stay with me. Conversely, the beads are given as gifts to people who have had a formative influence on me and who have become part of my “jewellery family” over the course of my life. Within my study, the group falls into the category of objects reflect memory-related deviation. | Impact Description: | The currently 35 beads of the "necklace" will be exhibited in October 2025 as part of the exhibition "Acts of Deviation" in the Galerij Refugiehuis UHasselt. | Related Info: | Hasselt University PXL-MAD School of Arts |
