Contributors/Performers: KONSCHAKE, Maria
Issue Date: 2024
Abstract: "Missing (memories)" reflects on everything we might have lost over the course of time.
Keywords: Memory;Candle holders

Discipline: beeldende kunsten
Research Context: All objects in the series are inspired by candle holder pieces from the collection of the DIVA museum, Antwerp (BE). In the design process, however, an attempt was made to create their ugly cousins that have been lost over time. The objects are a fantasy of objects that might once have been, visualising these as fragile ghosts of the past. Within my study, the group falls into the category of objects based on memory-related deviation.
Impact Description: The group of objects was first exhibited during the exhibition "Secret, Sacred & Scattered" at the DIVA museum, Antwerp (BE) from February 28 until March 30, 2025. In October 2025, the work will be on display as part of the exhibition "Acts of Deviation" in the Galerij Refugiehuis UHasselt.
