Abstract: We wanted to investigate further previous observations on the influence of pH on K+ conductance in Necturus renal proximal tubule cells. Therefore the kidney was artificially perfused with a HCO3- free Hepes-buffered solution on both sides of the tubular wall: the peritubular(P- and luminal(L) compartments.
