Issue Date: | 2013 | Source: | 22th world congress of psychosomatic medicine, lissabon, 12-14 september 2013 | Abstract: | Conclusion The meaning of body experience for fibromyalgia patients was investigated in this study. Both intra-individual and inter-individual aspects are important. When considering embodiment as a dimensional construct, with disembodiment at one end of the spectrum and hyperembodiment on the other end, the balance inclines to hyperembodiment in fibromyalgia. Here we consider a temporary, state-dependent reversal on the axis of disembodiment possible. The personality trait alexithymia has no effect on how fibromyalgia patients experience their body. | Document URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/1942/15891 | Category: | C2 | Type: | Conference Material |
