Abstract

This article represents a short summary of the PhD research project "Forests under International Climate Change Law" carried out under the supervision of Professor B. Vanheusden at the University of Hasselt.The main objective of the project is to analyse the interrelation between the international climate change law and the international law on forests. It is argued that in the long run, policies, aiming at the prevention of dangerous climate change, may also result in unintended negative environmental impact causing, inter alia, a rapid growth in the use of wood.
