dc.description.abstract | In the last decade, the usage of nanoparticles for biomedical and commercialapplications is expanding extensively. Nanotechnology offers the unprecedentedcapacity to manipulate cells with nanoscale precision, opening up tremendousopportunities to exploit the interactions at the nano-bio interface for therapeuticpurposes. In order to take full advantage of this promise, it is necessary that theinteractions of nanoparticles and living cells are characterized in advance. Thisallows the assessment of the safety of nanotechnology-based applications, butalso provides insights to the nano-bio interactions for preventive healthstrategies and future health applications. | - |
