Abstract: This paper explores the internal dynamics of entrepreneurial ecosystems and the entrepreneur's role in creating and orchestrating a framework for shared value creation by means of qualitative data capturing 15 years of development of an HR services ecosystem in The Netherlands. Specifically, the focus rests on the complex interplay between ecosystem goals, entrepreneurial attributes, orchestration actions, value creation for the ecosystem partners, and ecosystem outcomes over time. Our findings suggest that a focus on the psychology of entrepreneurs can help us more thoroughly understand the complex dynamics of the ecosystems they build and sustain.
