Van de globale HIV en tuberculose epidemie¨en tot de ontwikkeling van nieuwe pathogenen en de heropflakkering van oude pathogenen, vaak in nieuwe en resistente vorm, infectieziekten hebben een zeer grote impact op de wereldgezondheid.
