Title: | PEDOT/PSS: synthesis, characterization, properties and applications | Authors: | Louwet, Frank Groenendaal, L D'HAEN, Jan MANCA, Jean Leenders, L Van Luppen, J Verdonck, E |
Issue Date: | 2003 | Publisher: | ELSEVIER SCIENCE SA | Source: | SYNTHETIC METALS, 135(1-3). p. 115-117 | Abstract: | The surface resistance of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT), stabilised with poly(styrene sulfonic acid) (PSS) decreases 3 orders of magnitude by adding high boiling organic solvents, such as N-methyl pyrolidone (NMP). TEM studies on these films showed that the addition of NMP creates a phase separation resulting in a porous structure. The use of high boiling solvents during the coating of PEDOT/PSS on polyester supports results in transparent conducting electrodes with 3500hm/sq and a visual light transparancy of 80%. | Notes: | AGFA Gevaert NV, R&D Mat, B-2640 Mortsel, Belgium.
