Abstract: The present contribution summarizes the part of the outcomes of the currently running European research project Meakado dealing specifically with Concentrically Braced Frames (CBF). The global objective of the research project Meakado is to develop specific design procedures for steel and steel-concrete composite structures in regions characterised by a low to moderate seismic activity, with an appropriate reliability level. The final aim is to find an optimal balance between safety and economical concerns.
