dc.description.abstract | Recent enhancements to the Heat-Transfer Method (HTM) biosensor have resulted in a more sensitive, stable, and more cost-effective device. In order to demonstrate the capabilities of the sensor, experiments on the detection of Bisphenol A in a buffer solution have been executed. Hereby the sensor substrate was functionalized with a bulk polymerized Molecularly Imprinted Polymer (MIP). Concentrations in the lower ppm range have been detected successfully. Identical measurements performed with a Non Imprinted Polymer (NIP) coated sensor substrate showed no response to increasing concentrations of Bisphenol A. The promising results will lead to new research efforts to further reduce the detection limit. | - |
