Abstract:	Dit artikel analyseert of de Nederlandse Zorgverkezeringswet (Zvw) voldoet aan de door de patiëntenrichtlijn gestelde eisen. De discussie spitst zich toe op een enkel – maar voor het Nederlandse zorgverzekeringsstelsel wel cruciaal – punt: de vergoeding van niet-gecontracteerde zorg. De bijdrage beargumenteert dat de Zvw wat betreft ziekenhuiszorg wel maar wat betreft extramurale zorg niet biedt wat de richtlijn gebiedt.
