Abstract: Water rockets can achieve great acceleration and height. The takeoff of these rockets, i.e. the period during which the rocket is accelerated upwards, typically lasts 200 ms. To accurately visualize e.g. the acceleration during takeoff, a measuring frequency of 1000 Hz is desired. In this project, we show that this is possible using a fairly simple, student friendly micro-controller, namely the Arduino nano 3.0.
