Title: | A framework supporting general object interactions for dynamic virtual worlds | Authors: | JORISSEN, Pieter LAMOTTE, Wim |
Issue Date: | 2004 | Publisher: | SPRINGER-VERLAG BERLIN | Source: | SMART GRAPHICS, PROCEEDINGS. p. 154-158 | Series/Report: | LECTURE NOTES IN COMPUTER SCIENCE | Series/Report no.: | 3031 | Abstract: | This work introduces a new interaction framework for dynamic virtual environments. The proposed system is designed to deal with all possible interactions in a virtual world. The idea is to build up a world of objects that contain their own interaction information. As a result the object interactions are application independent and a single scheme is required to handle all interactions in the virtual world. Furthermore, an object model description is designed that provides a means to describe the object's functionality. This description can also be used by AI agents to plan or execute interactions with these objects. | Notes: | Limburgs Univ Ctr, Expertise Ctr Digital Media, B-3590 Diepenbeek, Belgium.Jorissen, P, Limburgs Univ Ctr, Expertise Ctr Digital Media, Univ Campus, B-3590 Diepenbeek, Belgium.pieter.jorissen@luc.ac.be wim.lamotte@luc.ac.be | Document URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/1942/2827 | ISSN: | 0302-9743 | DOI: | 10.1007/b97744 | ISI #: | 000221907300017 | Category: | A1 | Type: | Journal Contribution | Validations: | ecoom 2005 |
