Health was defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1948 as a state of complete physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being, and not merely the absence of disease. In recent years, a more dynamic definition was proposed by Machteld Huber, who considered health as the ability to adapt and self-manage in the face of social, physical, and emotional challenges. These definitions are important to appreciate the value of rehabilitation, being considered as the health strategy for the 21st century.Well-being and rehabilitation have been well acknowledged as an essential part of the MS treatment care pathway although, admittedly, they have failed to feature in the most recent ECTRIMS-EAN guidelines on the management of multiple sclerosis that focused solely on the pharmacological treatment.-
