Title: | Lasteicon open-to-CHS beam-to-column connections | Authors: | DAS, Rajarshi GOUVEIA HENRIQUES, Jose DEGEE, Herve |
Issue Date: | 2020 | Publisher: | Ernst & Sohn | Source: | Ernst & Sohn, p. 416 -425 | Series/Report: | Special Issue: XII Conference on Steel and Composite Construction, December 2019 | Abstract: | This paper presents different types of two-way and four-way nominally pinned as well as moment resisting open-to-CHS connection configurations obtained via an innovative “passing-through” approach and primarily proposed through the European research project LASTEICON. The two-way moment resisting connections are emphasized in this article. The nonlinear behaviour of the connections is discussed through a suitable understanding of the force-transfer mechanism involved. Furthermore, these innovative connections are compared with the directly welded conventional open-to-CHS connections to highlight the advantages offered by the “passing-through” approach. | Document URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/1942/30725 | ISSN: | 2509-7075 | DOI: | http://dx.doi.org/10.1002/cepa.1216 | Rights: | 2019 Ernst & Sohn Verlag für Architektur und technische Wissenschaften GmbH & Co.
