Title: | A highly efficient route towards well-defined modifications of poly(p-phenylene vinylene) | Authors: | de Kok, MM VAN BREEMEN, ALBERT ADRIAENSENS, Peter van Dixhoorn, A GELAN, Jan VANDERZANDE, Dirk |
Issue Date: | 1998 | Publisher: | WILEY-V C H VERLAG GMBH | Source: | ACTA POLYMERICA, 49(9). p. 510-513 | Abstract: | The microstructure of PPV is very efficiently modified by partial oxidation of the sulfinyl precursor polymer towards PPV. Controlled oxidation leads to a copolymer with sulfinyl and sulfonyl groups. The sulfinyl groups can be eliminated selectively yielding PPV with restricted conjugation lengths. The optical properties of the obtained conjugated polymers change linearly with the amount in introduced sp(3) defects while the efficiencies of photoluminescence rise also linearly and considerably. | Notes: | Univ Limburg, Inst Mat Res, Div Chem, Lab Organ & Polymer Chem, B-3590 Diepenbeek, Belgium.de Kok, MM, Univ Limburg, Inst Mat Res, Div Chem, Lab Organ & Polymer Chem, B-3590 Diepenbeek, Belgium.dvanderz@luc.ac.be | Document URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/1942/3149 | Link to publication/dataset: | http://doi.wiley.com/10.1002/(SICI)1521-4044(199809)49:9%3C510::AID-APOL510%3E3.0.CO;2-9 | ISI #: | 000076443300009 | Type: | Journal Contribution | Validations: | ecoom 1999 |
