Title: | Radiological and Clinical Evaluation of the Transosseous Cortical Button Technique in Distal Biceps Tendon Repair | Authors: | CAEKEBEKE, Pieter Vermeersch, Nicolas DUERINCKX, Joris van Riet, Roger |
Issue Date: | 2016 | Source: | The Journal of hand surgery (St. Louis, Mo.), 41 (12) , p. e447 -e452 | Abstract: | One of the options to repair a ruptured distal biceps tendon to the radial tuberosity is by means of a transosseous cortical button. Although excellent functional outcomes have been reported, no studies have been performed to quantify the effect of the transosseous fixation technique on the radius. Our study evaluated the clinical outcome and radiological outcome of this technique. The main goal of this study was to evaluate the radiographic evolution of the bone tunnel in the radius. | Keywords: | Biceps tendon;osteolysis;radial bony tunnel;repair;transosseous cortical button;Adult;Arm Injuries;Cohort Studies;Female;Follow-Up Studies;Humans;Injury Severity Score;Male;Middle Aged;Muscle, Skeletal;Observer Variation;Retrospective Studies;Rupture;Suture Techniques;Tendon Injuries;Tenodesis;Time Factors;Tomography, X-Ray Computed;Treatment Outcome;Suture Anchors | Document URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/1942/31788 | ISSN: | 0363-5023 | e-ISSN: | 1531-6564 | DOI: | 10.1016/j.jhsa.2016.08.014 | Category: | A1 | Type: | Journal Contribution |
