Integrating different public transport systems in large cities with several public transport option is attracting more and more attention among urban and transportation planners. To improve public transport service to a level that can compete with the door-to-door service of private cars, integrating different public transport in a city or a region into a seamless single service is of great importance. Many cities and regions have already implemented their plans for integration and many are planning for it. This thesis aims at improving the level of service of public transport in Tabriz by introducing physical and operational integration measures. For this purpose, modelling the public transport system in Tabriz and designing different variants by making adjustments in the existing system, including the introduction of an intermodal transport station in the city centre and introduction of an integrated fare system, is carried out.
