N The European research project "New market chances for steel structures by innovative fastening solutions" ("InFaSo" [1]), funded by the RFCS, has been dealing with the investigation of the structural behaviour and the enhancement of steel-to-concrete joints. When connecting a steel beam to a reinforced concrete wall, the pinned joint may be achieved by using anchor plates with welded headed studs or other fasteners. On the anchor plate butt straps or cams can be welded, where e.g. the steel beam may be bolted or welded to. Some typical solutions for pinned steel-to-concrete joints can be seen in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2. These joint configurations form the basis of the experimental and analytical investigations on pinned steel-to-concrete joints within "InFaSo". There amongst others pinned joints to a reinforced concrete wall were tested within the experimental programme. In addition a mechanical model based on the component method (see e.g. [2], [3]) was developed. The component method has already been introduced for steel joints in EN 1993-1-8 [4] and some few concrete components in EN 1994-1-1 [9], but most of the concrete components are still missing, especially concerning their stiffness and deformation capacity. The developed model was verified by experimental results and considers in particular these concrete components, which cannot be found in the current codes yet. In the present paper the results of the experimental work and the developed component model are presented, describing the behaviour of the investigated pinned steel-to-concrete joint solutions.-
