Abstract: This paper presents the ongoing research work within the RFCS research project PROIN-DUSTRY focussing the seismic protection to industrial installations. In particular, a case study considering a Gas Tank is investigated. In order to characterise the behaviour of the Gas Tank structure, several numerical simulations were performed comprising modal analyses, pushover analyses and time-history nonlinear analyses. Then, the preliminary calculations for the calibration a base isolation system under development, and foreseen for the seismic protection of the referred Gas Tank structure, are compared with the non-protected structure.
