Abstract: The synthesis and characterization of tert. butyl substituted poly(isothianaphthene)-derivatives is presented. In the literature this low bandgap polymer is claimed to be soluble in common organic solvents. However, to our experience tert. butyl poly(isothianaphthene) is only partially soluble.
