Contributors/Performers: ROES, Remco
Issue Date: 2021
Abstract: Invitation for experimental meta-reflective contribution to Harri Orri Ar symposium at University of the Basque Country (LaSia research group). The Harri Orri Ar project aims to deepen the research dimension of artistic practice. This practice is understood as a knowledge experience, and takes position in the place of the artist as the author of a specific way of knowledge. It is from this place of reflective practice, from where one tries to trace not so much a theoretical knowledge, but a practical experimentation that allows open new ways for the creation and exhibition of artistic research. The main objective is to work experimentally in search of formats that can allow the development, exhibition and/or publication of artistic research processes. For this, the project propose to explore the methodological bases of the creation processes; review the assembly principles; the relationships between images and texts; the possibilities of the visual essay; and the conditions of the exhibition spaces, whether physical or virtual. The contributions discusses meta-threads in the research field (secular)(sacred)(space)(in the digital age), whilst engaging with various specific artistic projects and visual essays, exploring the possibility of the performance/video essay as a vehicle for artictic research dissemination.
