dc.description.abstractThe study was carried out based on a small town, Lummen in Belgium. The data used is a historical demographic data which was collected from the three sub-municipalities between 1750 and 1900. The data contained variables such as when an individual was born and when he/she died. Survival techniques was applied to model the survival function. This work is aimed to answer the following objective 1. Identify when epidemics took place and whether they were as severe as indicated in the literature 2. Determine for each year the number of people who died compared to previous year 3.Use methods of censored data to get information about individuals whose dates of births and deaths are not recorded
