De invloed van dit succesvolle leerboek en enkele recepten daaruit, tijdens de afgelopen eeuwen, wordt selectief toegelicht met een literatuuroverzicht en meerdere commentaren, waaronder ook enkele door Van Swieten zelf. THE MILITARY MEDICINE OF GERARD VAN SWIETEN In commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the death of the great Dutch physician Gerard van Swieten, personal physician to Empress Maria Theresa of Austria since 1745, this article discusses his handbook on military medicine from 1758.
