dc.description.abstract | In een wereld waar neoliberale hegemonie universiteiten uitdaagt om hun ethische verantwoordelijkheden ten opzichte van de samenleving na te komen, is het dringend nodig om ruimte te creëren voor verzet. In dit onderzoek beargumenteren we dat een manier om dit te doen is door aandacht te schenken aan conceptuele homologieën tussen het neoliberale en pedagogische discours, omdat ze werken als niet-geterritorialiseerde ruimtes die kwetsbaar zijn voor betekeniscontrole. We bouwen onze argumentatie op basis van een longitudinale kritische discoursanalyse van kranten geproduceerd door een civic universiteit, de Universiteit Hasselt, waarin we de betekenissen analyseren die aan kennis en leren worden gegeven, en omringende concepten. Wij stellen dat wanneer de universiteit erin slaagde dissonantie te creëren met de neoliberale discourse, het meer in staat was om zijn definities te weerstaan. Echter, waar dit niet het geval was, was er ruimte om neoliberale betekenissen buiten hun context te gebruiken, waardoor deficit-thinking en meritocratie ontstonden - ideeën die bijdragen aan de rechtvaardiging van uitsluitingsmechanismen, zelfs als de universiteit een studentgerichte pedagogie en een duidelijke civic intentie had. We verdedigen daarom de noodzaak van een pedagogische visie met dissonante betekenissen als verzetsstrategie en creëren een kader dat kan worden gebruikt om kwetsbare pedagogieën te identificeren. | - |
