dc.description.abstractRecent werd het Double-homeobox protein 4 (DUX4) aangetoond in synoviaal weefsel van arthritis patiënten. Echter wordt dit eiwit niet meer gemaakt na de vroege embryogenese, waar het een belangrijke transcriptie factor is. Het doel van deze thesis was om de eerste stappen te zetten in de karakterisatie van DUX4 in SW982 cellen. Deze cellen zijn een geaccepteerde cellijn om het synovium te bestuderen in het bijzonder de fibroblast-achtige synoviocyten.
