Essays on alternative public finance mechanisms: An empirical and theoretical law and economics approach

Abstract

The present dissertation consists of three delineated but complementary parts and 5 studies, which approach public finance from 3 perspectives, each of which in turn provides new insights into this policy field. The policy recommendations at the end of each chapter serve one overarching goal, namely: to promote sustainable public finances or, in other words, sound government.
