Title: | PIPAC Pharmacologic and Clinical Data | Authors: | Cortes-Guiral, Delia Kranenburg, Onno Sgarbura, Olivia VAN DER SPEETEN, Kurt Taibi, Albdelkader Hubner, Martin Yacoov, Almog Ben |
Issue Date: | 2024 | Publisher: | WILEY | Source: | Journal of surgical oncology, | Status: | Early view | Abstract: | Pressurized intraperitoneal aerosol chemotherapy (PIPAC) emerged as an innovative intraperitoneal chemotherapy delivery system to overcome the issue of limited efficacy of systemic therapies to induce response in peritoneal malignancies. Promising results for patients with mesothelioma peritonei and peritoneal metastasis from gastric, ovarian, colorectal, pancreatic, and hepatobiliary tumors origin are changing the landscape for patients otherwise just facing palliative treatment. Ongoing trials will shed more light on the actual benefits of PIPAC. | Notes: | Cortés-Guiral, D (corresponding author), Hosp Viamed Santa Elena, IVOQA Viamed Adv Surg Oncol Inst, Madrid, Spain. delia.cortes.guiral@gmail.com |
