dc.description.abstractDe Nieuw-Guinese landplatworm Platydemus manokwari werd begin 2023 op twee locaties in Bonaire aangetroffen. Dit is de eerste vondst op de abc-eilanden. In januari 2024 werd de soort ook voor het eerst op het Nederlandse deel van Sint Maarten gevonden. Platydemus manokwari was wel al bekend van andere eilanden in de regio en ook op het Franse Saint-Martin. In maart 2024 werd de soort voor het eerst gevonden op Curaçao. De Nieuw-Guinese landplatworm is een exoot die oorspronkelijk uit Nieuw-Guinea komt, maar zich inmiddels over de hele wereld heeft verspreid. Hij wordt door de iucn tot de 100 schadelijkste invasieve exoten ter wereld gerekend.-
