Abstract: The overarching goal of this PhD thesis was to challenge the prevailing one-sizefits-all approach in the treatment of individuals with hip osteoarthritis (OA) undergoing total hip arthroplasty (THA) and to provide the foundations for future personalized rehabilitation pathways. The two main objectives of this project were: (1) the identification of clinical phenotypes based on biopsychosocial characteristics of individuals with hip OA and (2) the identification of prognostic factors for pain and disability outcomes after THA.
