| dc.description.abstract | Dit artikel analyseert in een notendoop de ontwikkeling van mediation in de EU, vanaf de invoering van de Mediation Directive van 2008 over bemiddeling in burgerlijke en handelszaken tot de gemiste kans om zich internationaal te profileren. Fragmentatie door minimale harmonisatie en uiteenlopende nationale praktijken ondermijnden vertrouwen en effectiviteit. Extern liet de EU kansen liggen tegenover hubs als Singapore en Londen, mede door afwezigheid bij het Singapore-verdrag. Toch liggen er perspectieven in bereik mits politieke wil en strategie aanwezig zijn. | - |
