Given the rapid growth of owning cars equipped with ADAS in developing nations, a desire to integrate ADAS training into the national licensing program has emerged. The current study investigates factors associated with intentions to participate in ADAS training when it is included in the Vietnamese licensing program as an optional component. A conceptual framework was established based on the combination of the theory of planned behavior and the technology acceptance model, and it was tested using the data collected from 490 persons intending to take a driving test within the next 6 months in Hanoi. The results suggested that the intention of take part in ADAS training was directly contributed by perceived usefulness and social influence. Whereas perceived risk served as a key deterrent. Perceived ease of use exhibited a significant total positive impact (but not a direct one) on the intention. Younger and male respondents from wealthier households tended to have a stronger intention to join ADAS training. Based on the findings of the associated factors mentioned above, we propose managerial implications to facilitate enrolment intention of ADAS training when it is integrated into driver licensing programs. | Notes: | Nguyen, MH (corresponding author), Univ Transport & Commun, Fac Transport Econ, Hanoi, Vietnam. tienthinh.nguyen@student.uhasselt.be; minhngoc15703@gmail.com; hieunm@utc.edu.vn |
